Humanist Psychotherapy

A Person Centered Approach

I practise humanist psychotherapy which is both gentle and strong.  It places the person at the centre of their work so that they discover their strengths in order to be able to fully flourish.

My main training is the Person-Centered Approach (PCA) which I studied for 5 years at the school, ACP France.

L'Approche Centrée sur la Personne

The Person Centered Approach (PCA)

At the heart of this approach, and of my own way of working, is the power of empathetic listening, the non-judgment of the person and the firm belief in a person's abilities to fully develop their potential.

Carl Rogers

Carl Rogers - the father of the Person Centred Approach to therapy.

This approach was developed byCarl Rogers (1902–1987), North American humanist psychotherapist, psychologist, researcher, educator and university professor who believed in an individual's innate capacity to reach their full potential when provided with the necessary conditions to support their growth.

Devoting his professional life to exploring the process of change in individuals, Carl Rogers defined the principles that facilitate personal development and revolutionized the art of listening. The principles of his research have now extended to areas other than psychotherapy such as social, educational, political and philosophical.
